The Vampire Diaries Adds Yet Another Sexy Vampire

With both Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley front and centre, you would think The Vampire Diaries‘ sexy vampire quotient was nearing critical mass. But the CW drama is tempting the laws of sexy physics, as Stephen Martines has just been cast as the show’s latest attractive bloodsucker.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Martines will play Fredereick, one of the vampires locked up in the tomb who then goes a bit wild when he’s let out. The ruggedly handsome actor is best known for his work on General Hospital and Guiding Light, and he later played a hard-hitting reporter on The Closer.

The Feb. 11 episode of The Vampire Diaries revealed that the legendary Katherine was not in the tomb after all – and we won’t get to find out what happens next until March 25. Six whole weeks without Ian Somerhalder’s piercing stare? How will we ever survive?!
