The last one was a pretty big deal, especially because of the shroud of mystery surrounding the relationship between the two girls. After all, they do look exactly alike and we’ve all wondered why. So, when we chatted with show exec producer Kevin Williamson at Comic-Con, we decided to work our Hollywood Crush magic and get him to give us the goods on whether or not the truth would be revealed in season 2.

“We 100 percent go there,” Kevin said of revealing why Katherine and Elena look so much alike. “It’s not an easy answer, it’s something I think Elena’s going to have to uncover, and I think the answers aren’t exactly what she wants to hear. But 100 percent, she is going to figure out the doppelganger aspect.”

The “Vampire” mastermind elaborated that Elena would take the lead on figuring out why she’s got a look-alike running around town.

“We’re going to play with the doppelganger and why does she look exactly like Katherine from 1864. And Elena takes that journey to uncover the truth because she wants to find out. Wouldn’t you want to know? I mean, it’s creepy,” he added. Yes, Kevin, we would want to know.

Of course, with Katherine more heavily in the mix in season 2, there are bound to be lots of flashbacks.

“You know, we talked about the founder’s ball, back in 1864 but we never showed it [in season 1]. We have an opportunity to show it, and show what happened when Katherine was there. What’s she doing? Oh look and there’s Mr. Lockwood in the corner, what’s he up to? So there’s a way we can sort of connect everything and show you part B. The other half of the story that hasn’t been told yet,” Kevin said, adding that flashbacks in the first 13 episodes will stick to Mystic Falls circa the 1860s.

We’ve got to admit, with all this new information our heads are starting to spin. We’ve already come up with all kinds of theories as to why Elena and Katherine look alike. Of course, then again, we could save ourselves the headache and just go with the one Steven R. McQueen proposed:

“She’s actually a clone,” he joked. OK, so maybe he was just kidding, but at this point, we’ll take it!

Ironically, this new piece of information also makes Damon more, well, human. Of course he’s bitter and angry. Katherine chose to turn his brother, and then that same brother caused Damon to live in a world in which Katherine does not exist or does not want him.     TVFANATIC

Let’s begin with the story of how the Salvatore Brothers were turned. As Stefan detoxed/starved himself, he flashed back to the night that Katherine and the other vampires were captured and supposedly burned in the church. He and Damon found the vampire paddy wagon, created a distraction, and tried to free Katherine. Damon was shot, then Stefan. Both died. How did they become undead then? Well, Katherine had Emily make the brothers rings to protect them, and she’d been using compulsion to make Stefan drink from her for weeks. He died with her blood in his system, as did Damon, who we already knew drank from her willingly. Ever since we saw Vicki have to make the choice of whether to feed on human blood to complete the transformation or starve to death, I wondered how each brother made that decision. The guilt of choosing immortality is what made Stefan want to go hungry now. “No more. After what I’ve done, it has to end,” he told Elena. “I just want it over.”     POPWATCH

Beverly Jo Pryor is the department head of makeup for the CW’s hit show, The Vampire Diaries. She works on the makeup of Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Katerina Graham. She establishes the looks of the beautiful cast, and in this interview tell us what really goes into developing the looks, and how we can achieve them at home!

What are some of your on-the-go quick tips for makeup?

Beverly: Less is best. That’s my philosophy. People think more is better, but I always say less is best. If a person is on-the-go and ready to go, you can do a couple of things. Put your mascara on and put your lips on. If you want to add to that, you can put a little blush on as well, but that is optional. Then you’re good to go. If you’re wearing sunglasses, then you really want to do your lips since everything else is covered. You just have to decide if you’re going to wear sunglasses and still want to look cute.

Do you believe that makeup should be focused on either eyes or lips? Or can we get away with doing up both?

Beverly: I believe there’s no rule. It depends on the individual, their look, and what you’re trying to achieve. There is no set rule. I’m old school.

Skincare goes hand in hand with the application and appearance of makeup. Do you have the cast on any type of skincare regimen?

Beverly: I allow everybody to do what they do. But I always make sure to follow through. We cleanse, I always make sure they take their makeup off or that they promise me they will. I have hot towels, makeup remover and moisturizer to replenish their skin after they’ve had makeup on all day. If they come in, I use a toner and make sure the have everything they need, whether it be extra moisturizer or something else. Everyone has a different skin types, so that determines what I use. Some things that I do use are Jan Marini and a little bit Kiehl’s. There’s no one line that I use for everybody, everybody has a different regimen. For the guys, some of the main things I use for them is called For His Skin, it’s an ingrown hair solution that they put on after they shave, and that smells good and keeps everything moist and soft. I’m very individualized; I accommodate each person. A few of the girls have things that they insist on using, and if their skin is nice, that’s fine with me. If it doesn’t need to be fixed, don’t fix it. As long as I have a clean face, a clean palette to start with. I don’t use the same line on anyone.

The undead might scare some people away but not Sara, which is why there couldn’t have been a better show to have catapulted her to fame than The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries.” Sara plays Jenna Sommers, the aunt and legal guardian of Jeremy and Elena, who all exist in a world where vampires and humans are entangled in one another’s lives (and sometimes just each other). But if you think her relationship with the undead is a new found hobby, think again. She laughingly recalled to the mag of her childhood, “I would creep into the living room and hide behind the couch to watch ['The X-Files']. I would scare myself. I had a really overactive imagination.”

Before her success on “Vampire Diaries,” Sara called Sherwood Park in Canada home. Starring in some middle school stage productions, she was bitten by the infamous acting bug. Later, this same bug caused her to leave the university she was attending to move to Vancouver and pursue acting: one passion Sara knew she needed to cultivate. “Nothing really fueled my fire the way performing did. So I [asked myself], ‘why can’t I do this?’”

While in Vancouver, she landed the role of Nicky Hilton in “Paparazzi Princess: The Paris Hilton Story,” a theme she’s now become familiar with herself. Sara’s quickly learned about how vicious paparazzi and tabloids can be with any scandal. During a “Vampire Diaries” photo shoot with her female costars on top of a bridge, motorists made phone calls claiming unruly girls were hanging out on the bridge, flashing people. Although all charges were dismissed, the story hit the tabloids full force. Sara just brushes it off though, “My friends and family all automatically called me, laughing, because they know I’m the last person in the world who would do something like that.”

And what type of person is Sara exactly? She still cares about her hometown, sending autographs to her former high school for their silent auction. And she’s also incredibly driven about going after her dreams. She confided to the magazine, “When I moved away from home … there was no thought in my head of maybe this is going to work out. I was always really adamant about making this happen.”

In “Blood Brothers”, Stefan struggles to come to terms with his past. He and Damon will reveal startling information to Elena regarding their past and she’ll finally learn the truth in how the two of them became vampires. Elena is shaken when she discovers that Stefan wants to die.

Meanwhile, Damon and Alaric work against time to find a mysterious invention before Jonathan manages to. The relationship between Jeremy and Anna will grow stronger. All this and more in the 20th episode of “The Vampire Diaries”. The episode premieres Thursday, April 29th on The CW so be sure to tune in.
