I’m sure Sean Faris will have girls flocking to see the high action video game movie ‘The King of Fighters’. The Vampire Diaires star, who plays Ben McKittrick, has taken on the lead role in the Gordon Chan directed production.

He is scheduled to play Kyo Kusanai alongside Will Yun Lee as the character Iori Yagami. The King of Fighters was adapted by screenwriters Rita Augustine and Matthew Ryan Fischer. Also set to appear in none other than gorgeous Maggie Q, playing Mai Shiranui and David Leitch as Terry Bogard.

The movie’s plot per AceShowbiz.com centers around “three legendary clans are transported to another dimension to test their martial arts skills against an evil force that seeks to invade and infect the real world.” For gamers who are already familiar with the storyline the writers have something new in store for you. “The King of Fighters movie will introduce a new science fiction spin into the setting established in the games’ universe by following the surviving members of three legendary fighting clans who are continually whisked away to other dimensions by an evil power.”

The King of Fighters has yet to announce a release date but we’ll keep you updated. Additional cast aside from Sean Faris include performer Ray Park as Rugal Bernstein, actor Bernice Liu as Vice, Monique Ganderton in the role of Mature and Sam Hargrave as Ryo Sakazaki.
