Posted by Angela with No Comments

Vampire Diaries launches on ITV2 After the amazing success of Twilight, it seems many people have got a taste for vampire adventures and if you are one of them, then you will probably enjoy the latest series to hit ITV2.

The Vampire Diaries begins on Tuesday night. It tells the story of a girl who falls in love with vampire brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore. The three live in the fictional town of Mystic Falls in Virginia.

The Vampire Diaries has already proved to be a major success in America, having become the best performing show on the CW Network.

Paul Wesley who plays Stefan reckons it is an exciting series.

“Expect nothing by the unexpected,” he said.

The Vampire Diaries: Meet Jonathan Gilbert

Posted by Angela with No Comments

Does the name Jonathan Gilbert sound familiar to you? If it doesn’t then clearly, you’re not a fan of The Vampire Diaries. The show has made frequent references to Jonathan, who happens to be Elena and Jeremy’s direct-line ancestor and an author/investor in Mystic Falls back in 1864.

I don’t really know the mystery behind Jonathan and his journals (which Jeremy is currently using as reference for his history paper) or if he’s even related to Elena considering the big revelation in last week’s episode. But I’m sure we’ll get more dirt on Jonathan as The Vampire Diaries treats fans with more flashback episodes.

According to Fancast.com, Jonathan Gilbert will be played by Joe Knezevich, who will make his Vampire Diaries debut in the episode “Children of the Damned,” which is expected to air on February 4. Knezevich is an actor from Atlanta whose credits include Drop Dead Diva, The Librarian 3: The Curse of the Judas Chalice and One Tree Hill.

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder: ‘I went off the rails’

Posted by Angela with No Comments

Have you attracted any crazy vampire groupies? Not so far. We film out in the sticks in Georgia so we’re quite cut off. That happened more when I was doing Lost. People used to camp outside my house.

Have you ever had a supernatural experience? I’d like to think so. I’m from the Deep South. There’s a lot of supernatural energy down there. There were a lot of deaths in the Civil War. If you’re open to it, you can feel it.

You started modelling at ten. What was that like? Amazing. Instead of playing baseball in the summer I’d go to New York to model. I learned a lot. I was exposed to a lot of interesting things, talented photographers and cool intellectuals, and New York City got into my blood. It was a juxtaposition of New York and this quiet, rural area of Louisiana my family lived in. It changes your outlook on childhood. You grow up really fast. I moved to Europe when I was 16.

‘Vampire Diaries’ Cast Takes Over Atlanta Hot Topic: Our On-The-Scene Report

Posted by Angela with No Comments

This past Saturday, the Town Center Mall in Kennesaw, Georgia echoed as upcoming band “We the Kings” entertained a nearly mile long line of “Vampire Diaries” fans as they anxiously waited to meet the cast of hit CW show.

From Virginia, to South Carolina, and even Chicago, die hard fans traveled from all over to catch a glimpse of the cast. More than 500 people were able to shake hands and get an autograph from the 10 cast members present, while several hundred waited outside of the Hot Topic in hopes of a glimpse at their favorite Mystic Falls resident. The first in line was a mom and daughter duo who had been waiting since 7:45 in the morning to guarantee their spot in line to meet the crew. Though the screaming was a few octaves lower than the “New Moon” cast appearance at the Mall of Georgia in November, these fans were much more determined to win the hearts of their favorite cast member.

There was even a number of moms standing in line who openly admitted they, too, had hopes of stealing the vampire brothers from Elena Gilbert, played by actress Nina Dobrev. Inside the Hot Topic, the cast was all smiles as they signed posters and made fun of one another not letting the nearly two hours of singing autographs leave them any less hyped up.

While a select amount of lucky fans got their custom posters signed, hundreds of people outside of the food court lined the stage as We the Kings (pictured above) performed for a second time before the Q & A session. The cast came down to the stage as “Check yes Juliet” resonated throughout the mall.

It took a good five minutes or so before the screaming subsided enough to begin asking questions. Katerina Graham, who plays the witch Bonnie Bennett, was so excited she even ran to the crowd to hug several people in the front row. The decibel of the screams raised when former “Legally Blonde” hunk Matthew Davis was welcomed to the stage as one-half of the Salvatore brothers, Ian Somerhalder, asked the crowd, “Girls, do your teachers look like that?” (No, Ian, ours definitely didn’t!)

The cast was excited to be in the hometown of their set and told the fans their favorite part of working in Atlanta was the southern hospitality. One fan asked Nina what was the biggest difference between “Degrassi” and “Vampire Diaries,” and she responded: “Well, no one is trying to kill me on ‘Degrassi.’” Ian joked with the crowd that is favorite color was blood red and admitted that he tries to spook his castmates out on set, especially when they shoot at night.

A nice moment was shared as the crowd sang Happy Birthday to Nina (she recently hit her 21st milestone). When one fan asked her who was a better kisser between Stefan and Ian, she responded as any lady would, “I’m a girl who never kisses and tells.” The competition between Ian’s and Paul Wesley’s fans was almost as intense as Team Edward vs. Team Jacob, but the boys were able to joke about it. Paul said, “Well, Damon’s crazy, and Damon drives Stefan crazy.” To end the quarrel Nina told the crowd she would pick “Defan” (a mixture of Damon and Stefan) their “other” brother over the two vampires to date.

What would you ask the cast of “Vampire Diaries” if you were in charge of the Q & A? Will you be going to any of the other stops on the mall tour?

Dobrev teases 'Vampire Diaries' deaths

The CW

Nina Dobrev has teased that more characters may be killed off on The Vampire Diaries.

Early on in season one, the producers wrote out Kayla Ewell’s Vicki when she was turned into a vampire and subsequently staked.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Dobrev – Elena Gilbert on the CW drama – said that fans “should be worried” about the rest of the characters.

“The audience should be worried about every character’s well-being because it’s up in the air – anything can happen,” she said.

“When we first got the show, one of the directors on the show came up to us, sat us down and said to us, ‘Just so you guys know, you’ve got to be on your best behaviour and don’t get too attached.

“It’s not Elena’s Diaries, it’s not Damon’s Diaries and it’s not Vicki’s Diaries – it’s The Vampire Diaries and anything can happen!’.”

She added: “They wanna keep the audience on the edge.”

The Vampire Diaries continues next Thursday at 8pm on The CW.
