Vampire Diaries is the new, teen-oriented drama from The CW, home of 90210 and Gossip Girl. And, this fall, Vampire Diaries will supplant Smallville on Thursday nights to join the made-in-B.C. Vampire Diaries
The CW drama pilot is based on L.J. Smith’s books of the same name and revolves around a young woman, Elena (played by Nina Dobrev), who is torn between two vampire brothers. Who can resist a vampire love-triangle?! Lost‘s Ian Somerhalder is cast as the evil brother, Damon, while Paul Wesley has bagged the part of the younger and good vampire, Stefan.

The brothers will battle it out for her heart – as well as her soul, and the souls of her friends and family. It turns out they’ve crossed swords in the past over a woman, and history is repeating itself… Steven R. McQueen (grandson of Steve McQueen), Zach Roerig and Kayla Ewell have also been cast in the pilot.
